School districts receive nearly $70,000 in grants

CENTRAL TX - The Education Service Center Region 12 Technology Foundation is awarding nine school districts nearly $70,000 in technology integration grants. 

Four of those school districts, which are Aquilla, Hillsboro, Whitney and Fairfield have received their portion of grants Monday. 

The money will be used to buy instructional devices for children that can be applied in all subject areas. 

The remaining five school districts will be awarded their grants in April. 

Jerry Maze, the executive director said so far the foundation has awarded about $280,000 to 30 school districts. 

He said every dime goes towards making the classrooms a more efficient learning environment.
