Laundry and shower donated for vets

WACO, TX - A veteran's service facility that is known for providing information and other assistance to vets now can offer something else: Cleanliness.

The Veteran's One Stop  at  2010 LaSalle Avenue in Waco has been provided with a laundry room and shower by ReBath of Central Texas.

The donated facilities will be made available free of charge to area veterans who need a place to clean up or to wash clothes.

The shower facility will be available in the mornings beginning at 8:30 a.m. with each user getting thirty minutes, and the laundry facility will be useable from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The One Stop hopes that the facility will help the self esteem of veterans and in conjunction with the clothes closet next door, perhaps help with veterans getting a job.

The closet contains business clothes available free to veterans, including dress shirts, ties, slacks and shoes.

It is hoped that by allowing vets to have a chance to dress properly for job interviews that the likelihood of them being successful will be greater.

The Veterans One Stop was designed to provide a variety of services to vets without them having to travel to several different locations.
