Killeen, Tx - The Killeen police department has joined other agencies throughout Central Texas targeting prostitution in recent weeks.
This time, officer were working on reducing the "demand" side of the equation, going after the "johns", or those seeking the services of prostitutes.
In the past they have gone after the prostitutes themselves.
In Thursday's sting operation, Killeen officers made ten arrests for prostitution.
Commander Alex Gearhardt said the operation was conducted in response to criminal activity being monitored by detectives, as well as citizen complaints and information they provided.
Follow up investigations were continuing on Friday.
